This might be a odd question, but here goes:
What are the, visually, most stunning movies you have ever seen? Films that really made your jaws drop in astonishment because of their pure beauty! ...I'm not only talking about horror movies - I'm talking "the most beautyful movie of all times - all genres included" ![]() Two of my top choices would have to be: City of the lost children Sleepy Hollow ..and honorable mention of Argento's Suspiria and Inferno Sooo. Let's hear it - what are your favorites? |

A Clockwork Orange.
Nearly every frame in the film can be made into a poster for the movie. "Viddy well little brother, viddy well" ------------------ ViVi-Sect-VI |

I would normally put Blade
Runner at the top of my list but after seeing the remasterd print of The Beyond at last years HIFF on a 60 foot screen it blew my mind at what a beautiful film Fulci created, so it's tops on my list of "purdy films". Other films that i think are "visually stunning" are: Savior Of The Soul Naked Killer Law Of Desire Women On The Verge Of a Nervous Breakdown Inferno In A Glass Cage Cafe Flesh Crash (hated it but damn it's a freakin beautiful film) |

Suspiria, Princess Mononoke, Fight Club, Seven, and Evil Dead 2.
That's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. G. |

Since most of my favorites have already been listed (good call on Miller's Crossing BTW), I'll just add:
Alien Boogie Nights Chinatown The Empire Strikes Back Earth Girls are Easy (!) Bram Stoker's Dracula Apocalypse Now Heavenly Creatures Strange Days L.A. Confidential Kiki's Delivery Service (since someone else mentioned Mononoke) |

Se7en, Gladiator, City of Lost Children and Sleepy Hollow are among my favorites.
Star Wars, ESB, ROJ from my childhood. I'm always a sucker for big-budget effects-fests like Armageddon, imagery-wise. And for just startling the heck out of me when I first started watching horror, Dawn of the Dead, New York Ripper and Franco's Jack the Ripper. |

Am I the only one here who has seen Dellamorte Dellamore (a.k.a. Cemetery Man) or am I just mad? This movie would have to be one of the most beautifully shot films out there. Its up there with City Of The Lost Children for me in the way the camera works and the atmosphere the film invokes.

I watched the Dellamorte R2 DVD just last night.. I think it looked great, the cemetery scenes especially but I don't think it really stood out as one of the best looking movies I've seen.. Great movie though.
