Peter Jackson Zombie movie maybe??
I found this at the "bastards have landed" the PJ official fan site. But this might be just a rumor. Check out:
http://tbhl.theonering.net for more info (scroll down a bit) "Now, before you think that this is Peter's Spielberging out trip, you haven't heard it all. My spy has heard that while it is a World War 1 story, that is just a starting off point. Apparently, this is Peter's stab at making the largest scale ZOMBIE film ever. At least that's the rumor. A Zombie film of size and scale. Something straight out of the mind of a boy that got his FRONTLINE COMBATs screwed up with his TALES FROM THE CRYPTs in a Famous Monster noggin. Is this true? Is there any collaborative evidence? " |

p.jackson flatly denied the internet rumors about a WWI zombie epic in a recent LOTR press conference.
from the DARK HORIZONS web site Monday, December 31st 2001-- The Lord of the Rings: Aside from the information gleaned the other day, Peter Jackson and others revealed more information during interviews in New Zealand the other day: Jackson is not sure of what he plans to do next though indicates something much smaller next time. He does confirm that the WW1 zombie project rumours are 100% bullcrap. It was hinted that the role of Arwen (Liv Tyler) will appear in the second film though in the books her character doesn't appear again till the third. It also looks like the Eowyn (Miranda Otto) / Faramir (David Wenham) romance subplot will be expanded from the novels. Finally, writer Philippa Boyens talked about the possibility of adapting "The Hobbit" and while there's no plans as yet to do so, she's not sure whether she would do it as its a very difficult adaptation (over 15 major characters and a sudden shift in tone) - basically she, Jackson, etc. won't even consider it for a while yet.

Goddamn though, I wish it was true. Imagine Braindead / Dead Alive with the scope and cinematic finesse of Lord of the Rings. That would be fucking incredible. I wish Peter Jackson would use his talents for the forces of good (ie zombie horror films) rather than evil.
I want to see him knock out another R rated (Australian R Rated I mean - US NC17) horror.

hmmm.... I can see a LOTR analogy here... Think of Sauron's ring as the power of the studio dollar.. Right now Peter Jackson has that ring. Remember the ring does what it want's and the only one who can truly weild it is Sauron(Hollywood)... Now will PJ have the restraint of Frodo Baggins or will he be corrupted by the ring's will.. Somehow I hear him mumbling "Ooooo, my precious".
