Just noticed that Universal's Vault Series MOD line has recently released the following:
- Bates Motel, the 1987 made-for-TV Psycho movie with Bud Cort
- The Wild Life, Camereon Crowe's follow-up / pseudo-sequel to Fast Times

Also noticed that Disney Generation's MOD release of Child Of Glass is no longer in print. I'm so glad I bought that one right away because it is a favorite of mine!

I remember Bates Motel being pretty fun... haven't seen it in years though. If the price drops somewhat I might consider picking it up.

I didn't realize Child of Glass was OOP either. I'm glad I picked it up back when it was still in print too! Those are pretty hefty prices commanded for a DVD-R release now!

David Cronenberg's Crash has been sent to MOD under Warner Archives:
Quote:
CRASH (1996) J.G. Ballard's controversial classic novel about the late 20th Century's obsession with cars, celebrity and assassination certainly fit the bill for "un-filmable", so naturally, the visionary filmmaker David Cronenberg took up the challenge. Spader stars as James Ballard, an ennui-ridden director who plunges into an underworld scene of sex and car crashes following a near-fatal auto accident. Holly Hunter is a force of altered eros as Dr. Helen Remington, who joins James in his auto-erotic odyssey. It's a journey that eventually leads James to Vaughan (Elias Koteas), an inverted Virgil intent on leading James into deeper hells.
Too bad, I've been holding out on a Blu-ray for a decade now.

In case there are any '90s Nickelodeon fans out there, Amazon has recently released Doug: The Complete Series and My Brother And Me: The Complete Series.

Even though I already own DVD-R bootlegs of the entire series, I might have to pick these up. Upgrading my DVD-Rs to... DVD-Rs...

I wonder if the soundtrack for The Tale Of The Prom Queen is intact? I heard they removed the song "In The Still Of The Night" from the Canadian DVDs. Very important moment in the episode, it really looses its impact without it.

Not sure if you guys are aware, but the complete series of Are You Afraid of the Dark has been released in Canada on official pressed DVDs. They were OOP and selling for a fortune for a few years but another company has started to re-release them (I think they have released at least the first two seasons so far). I think I saw them for $15-$20 a Season. It's more than the US versions, but I always prefer pressed discs myself even if they are a little more costly.

Looks like Bates Motel will be getting a pressed DVD release on September 2nd, in a 4-movie set with Psycho II - IV.

I already have the Scream Factory blu-rays of II and III, but I'll have to pick this up for IV and Bates Motel.
