Re-Animator Coming To Blu-Ray!

will wait for the second sight release, the bd-rdl discs cost and anm and a leg. I have a region free bluray player for emergencies but it sucks compared to my region locked player.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. If I didn't know any better, based on the Image BD alone, I'd say that Re-Animator was shot on 16mm. On the bright side, it is still much better than their transfer of Hellbound...

I dunno, those screen caps look pretty damn nice. I haven't seen Re-Animator in years (and was probably back on VHS) - never owned it so yeah I think I'm gonna grab it.

Either way I think the clarity of the image definitely looks improved. I'll have to wait for the UK disc though as this is locked.

I don't get why they didn't post full HD shots. Of course when you downsize them they're going to look like a DVD screenshot. That's a pretty poor way to show a comparison.

I do have to say the Blu-ray transfer looks very uneven on this. Sometimes it just really doesn't look much better than a DVD upconvert, and at other times it definitely looks like an HD transfer. An example would be about 67 minutes into the film, the picture gets extremely grainy and filmlike.

It does look better than the DVD's, but this isn't one that's going to scream "better" in HD. The lossless 5.1 audio does sound great though.

i kinda thought the same thing for image's hellbound hellraiser II blu-ray last sept some scenes looked stellar others looked like an upconvert.

just cause somethings is on blu ray, dont mean its gonna look like avatar everytime. I actually prefer certain dvd transfer over their blu ray counterparts.
