Arcane Sorcerer: hosted by Guillermo Del Toro Tonight in Toronto

I picked up tickets to this tonight. I've never heard it before now but apparently it's an 1996 Italian Horror film which Del Toro claims is on of his favorite horror films. It's screening as part of the Fright Nights: Guillermo del Toro Does Halloween.

It's playing tonight at the Bell Lightbox in Toronto at 9:30pm . You can also buy tickets for "In Conversation with...GUILLERMO DEL TORO" which starts at 7pm.

Anyone else going to this?

Thanks. If you went to TIFF this year they should have included with your package a buy one get one free ticket to October events at the Bell Lightbox. That's what I used for mine. I only paid $6 a ticket.

That's actually incredibly badass. For me, not for del Toro but for seeing a pupi avati film on the big screen. This used to be impossible to find, I had it on an old multi-gen tape trade and it's actually quite the restrained type of film thick with atmosphere.

Noooooo!!!!! How the f*** did I miss this? I hope you had a good time. I saw that movie as a bootleg and I really enjoyed it. I read that Suspiria is being double billed with Toby Dammit at the Lightbox but I didn't see when that was going to happen.

Well I had a great time last night. Guillermo was his usually jolly self and I enjoyed the film as well but I can really see it getting better on repeat views. I regret not buying tickets to "In Conversation with...GUILLERMO DEL TORO" as he's is a fun guy to listen to and has great passion for horror and film in general. He did mention that he has been talking to Criterion about a possible release of Arcane Sorcerer so hopefully that works out.

A criterion release would be nice, my dvdr is terribly dark and the sound is poor too.

I try to keep up to date with what's going on at the Bloor cinema (hopefully it reopens soon) but the TIFF lightbox has a pretty bad website. I missed the Suspiria / Toby Dammit double feature even though I was looking for it. I'll check out the Revue as well (I'm relatively new to Toronto.)
