Elite Entertainment? I wasn't aware that Elite still existed... And to have aquired the rights from Synapse? Interesting...

I suspect this isn't going Blu, as Arrow is also releasing a new version of Deadly Spawn soon and it won't be on Blu-ray.

Amazon is taking preorders under the guise of it being a blu-ray. That'd be some false advertising if it wasn't true.

I asked Synapse about this on Twitter, and I guess their rights expired and they chose not to renew them. It's a shame as I like Synapse more than Elite but it makes sense if the title isn't a big seller.

Hi. I'm the producer/owner of The Deadly Spawn. I moved the rights from Synapse to Elite because I wanted a Blu-Ray release. The quality should be fine. We shot on so many 16mm stocks that it's tough to remove grain and scratches without spending a small fortune. I found a lot more supp materials, so hopefully it will be fun! My other 2 films are also coming out...HELL ON EARTH on Jan 24 (DVD) and The Regenerated Man on Dec 6th. All are available for pre-order on Amazon.

Thanks for the clarifications Ted. It's good to see people pushing for HD for the pictures.

I hope you guys didn't go overboard with the grain removal. I understand the desire but it seems far too easy for people to crank digital noise reduction up to 11 and pat themselves on the back for how "good" the image looks.

I look forward to seeing Deadly Spawn in HD and will have to check out your other features too.
