Unless the Synapse logo is plastered on the cover art, I ain't touching this. It's quite clear Elite hasn't a clue as to what the hell they are doing.

Why didn't they strike the transfer from the negative in the first place?

It's pretty obvious they simply sourced the 8+ year old transfer and applied multiple forms of digital manipulation, and it ended up looking worse than the old DVD.

I will not be buying any more versions of this movie. It's not even that good.

I read the reviews before opening my copy, sent it back to Amazon unopened for a refund, and bought the Synapse DVD instead. This new blu they're hinting at better look as good as The Ten Commandments before I spend another dime.

That's fantastic. It's definitely more bright and vivid than the Synapes dvd transfer. Looks like this will be the release to get when it comes out.

Looks good, I just hope there's some kind of replacement program for those of us stuck with the terrible first release.

There's only another version in the works because the owner (possibly director?) of the film was incredibly dissatisfied with how the Elite blu looked and the response it was getting. This lead him to source out the original negatives to put together an actual hi-def transfer.
