Now Universal needs to offer a replacement for their disgusting Big Lebowski blu-ray.

...and a bunch of others that they sourced from antiquated HD masters and then digitally tinkered to hell.

Universal released several truly superb looking Blu-rays (Casino for instance), but they've released a ton more turds.

I got my replacement disc. Besides the fixed credit the disc now has DTS-HD Master Audio. Everything else is identical to the first pressing including the Terror in the Aisles bonus feature.

I received everything in the mail but wasn't going to bother with a replacement. I will now that the audio has been upgraded.

Did you receive your replacement disc in an envelope or jewel case?

does the HD audio make a huge amount of difference in a movie like halloween 2? I have the equipment for decoding the HD formats, but was just wondering if the upgrade was a world of difference? Guess I'll just buy it again , a trade from Norway would probably be more trouble than it's worth

Hopefully it really is an upgrade, but it begs the question of why they didn't have DTS HD Master Audio on the disc (instead of lossy DTS) in the first place? It just doesn't make much sense.

I contacted them for a replacement mailer. I wasn't going to just for the credit, but it's worth it for the audio I guess.

Jewel Case. And it came rather quickly. I received the envelope on December 27th, sent the disc back on the 28th and received the new disc yesterday the 7th. Not too bad considering this was during the New Year holidays.

Wow. For the lossless audio upgrade I'll bite too.

Being a conspiracy theorist I definitely find this suspicious. Sounds like they agreed to fix the credit because the original discs were authored with the wrong audio track.

Thanks to all who shared info about the replacement process.

Agreed. Thanks all. I too have now contacted Universal for the replacement. The extra audio track is enough for me.
