The Hills Have Eyes: Part II (1985) Blu-ray

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Hills-Have-Eyes-Part-II-Blu-ray/35718/

It looks like Redemption are bringing the 1985 sequel to Blu-ray on 3/20/12. It's up for pre-order on Amazon.

It's advertised as "Remastered Edition" – and hopefully that's true.

Redemption are also releasing Killer's Moon (1982) and Virgin Witch (1972) on Blu-ray.

Excellent! I will definitely buy Hills Have Eyes II and Killer's Moon. I still have Hills on a VHS taped off Showtime. Really glad I never bought the DVD now.

Like this one a lot, a good blend of action and horror-very well paced.
The blind girl is mega hot too.

Great news. I love that cheesy Hills Have Eyes 2. Should deliver even more in glorious HD (hopefully).
I've totally forgotten about Killer's Moon. Seen it only once back in early VHS days. I won't mind a revisit on Blu-ray though.

The sad thing is that this release will be better than what we got with the original on blu. How could it not be? The first film's av was completely identical to what was released by AB nearly a decade ago.

I guess it was the best Image could get. Also don't forget the first film was shot in 16mm. Then again, when Image released Time Bandits on DVD last year, they used a PAL master rather than the recent (NTSC) one from the AB SE (suprisingly the Blu-Ray runs in it's correct 24fps runtime).

Blu-ray transfers in 1080i/p have nothing to do with being sourced from PAL/NTSC, unless they're just a plain old SD upconvert, so 24fps is normal.

Surely because it would be superior, image wise? Properly done, a PAL master is always better than an NTSC one, assuming image quality is better, of course. If not, you end up with Echo Bridge's DVD of Prom Night - unwatchable, IMO.

Never did see the sequel. But I do love the original film! Maybe now would be a good time to give it a whirl? Does anyone know if it'll have any features? I do remember Craven himself saying in an interview that he wasn't proud of it and was going through a divorce at the time.
