I don't want to be "that guy", but once again, I got screwed by the damn cardboard case scratching the discs. The sequel has two small scratches, and the DVD looks like a Netflix DVD (okay I'm exaggerating a little there). In case anyone doesn't know, the packaging is the same as the Alien, Star Wars and Stanley Kubrick boxsets. I carefully removed the discs, inspected them, and put them in a normal case (same as all the others I mentioned above). Every disc from my Stanley Kubrick set was scratched, and Warner promptly replaced them. Now I know that I'm nitpickicking, but some people are anal about slipcovers, I'm anal about scratched discs (especially blu-rays, which is difficult to do). Can the studios dispense with the cardboard cases please? End of rant.

Thankfully none of the discs in my set were scratched, but I can definitely see the design flaw. I did however have fingerprints on one of the discs.

Still waiting on a shipment email. Family Video's site still lists this as out of stock "more on the way soon". I'm hoping the wait isn't much longer as I really want this set.

I hate book style packaging. I prefer cases that actually protect the discs (which I'm pretty sure is the entire purpose of a case to begin with?).
I'm glad I didn't jump on this deal. I'll wait for it to drop to $10 or for Anchor Bay to re-release it in a normal case. I'm not that big on the movie anyway, so I'm okay with waiting. |
