I for one was disappointed with this. my own fault though, I let all the positive reviews get my hopes up.
The good: neat kills(my favorite was the brutal wood chipper death and the head cleaved in 2 via axe), barely any CGI, good acting from jaime king, and a fuckin scary killer santa. his mask was cool, especially the eyes. The bad: MALCOM MCFUCKINDOWELL....jesus christ, he was ATROCIOUS in this! every word that came out of his mouth made me roll my eyes and want to puke. he is basically Dr. Loomis from H2 all over again, only worse. the acting is pretty bad throughout as well as the cheesy dialogue. also i wish they had just done a straightforward serious horror film, which i know is hard when ya got a guy dressed as santa claus hacking people up, but i think it would've worked just fine, because santa is actually scary and surprisingly effective in this. instead, silent night for the most part is a horror/comedy, mostly due to mcdowell's dumb lines and the bad acting. it just felt like it wasn't really sure what it wanted to be. i never was a fan of the original silent night, but overall this is worth a rental at least. like i said, the kills and the santa claus are neat, and jaime king is wonderful as always. |

Really wasn't that good this one. McDowell was pretty bad, the acting overall was the pits, but Jaime King was ok. A few good kills but overall forgettable... not nearly as good as all of these reviews posted around are saying... meh

Screw that, some people in this thread (who enjoy similar movies as I do) did like it!

Well never the less you need to watch it then tell me all about it. I watched about 12 min and I could tell right away it was bad bad bad. I feel asleep so I can't say I finished watching it.

I enjoyed it. it wasn't anything revolutionary, but the santa mask was pretty creapy, and there were some good deaths. I don't know why everyone is ripping on McDowell, I enjoyed his whole asshole gung-ho sheriff thing. And, despite not getting naked, Ellen Wong did not disappoint in the cuteness factor.

I wasn't impressed. The victims are introduced just seconds before they are killed, so there's really nothing to invest in. I was bored.

This one was okay, but definitely didn't live up to the reviews. The acting was pretty terrible throughout, even Jamie King. That being said the Santa mask was cool, as were some of the kills especially (Like Paul0889 said) the wood chipper kill and the axe to the face. And I did appreciate the "Garbage Day" reference although I was disappointed not to hear the killer ever say "Punish!"

I liked it, could've been better though. The kills were definitely a plus.

I enjoyed it as well. That wood chipper kill is about the most gruesome thing I've ever seen. (I don't watch torture porn).
