Looking forward to this massive doc on probably my favorite series of all time.
While I agree with you, no one said DVD was extinct... they said the DVD is out of date and going extinct in the near future.

I never understood the anti-blu ray stance? Do you know how many amazing releases have come out blu ray only? Why miss out on that stuff if your a huge movie fan? I get it if people were frusterated about buying another format but we are at a point in the blu ray game that they are cheap enough and offer tons of extra content, exclusive releases and better pq and sound that they can't get on DVD. If people dont want to upgrade that's cool but why hate on it? I am curious.

I never "hated" on it. I just don't feel like upgrading. That is all.

No one ever talked about hating and surely no one stated their opinion as "anti" something.

Just because someone prefers other format, it doesnīt mean their against it or hated it.

As an example, I chose a PS3 over a Xbox360 just because I like Sony library over Microsoft, but I will never hate Xbox and nor Iīm against it.

Well, I feel it isn't fair something comes to Blu-ray but not on DVD and that's because there are still a few who don't have a Blu-ray player yet (and I can relate to that). This also goes for Shout! and their Blu-ray only releases of films like Timerider.

No, that's totally cool. As I said I understand if people don't want to upgrade but I just was curious why someone would give props for not "giving in" to blu ray. I'm not saying that anyone here was really being anti-blu but I do see that expressed alot in general and I was just curious about the rational behind the thinking. People can buy whatever they want, it's their right. I just wondered what the negative thought behind blu ray was.

Most certainly itīs not Shout to blame for a blu-ray only, maybe their contract only has that format and didnīt extend to DVD.

That's it. Shout's deal with MGM is the MOD titles can only be released on Blu by them.

Then again, no one was "negative" about the format.

Yeah, that must be the logical explanation. Just the other day I noticed that Dark Angel was blu only.

It sucks that you can't take advantage of these releases but again, Bluray has been out for almost 8 years now! Should they still release movies on VHS too for those that haven't upgraded to DVD? Again not trying to be a dick here, but I got complaints like this 5 years ago, I was probably part of them, but Bluray has been around long enough that if you haven't upgraded then it's no ones fault but your own. Again, players can be found for $50, some even cheaper! If you can afford a $20 movie, you can afford a Bluray player, and if you don't want to pony up for one then you just have to accept that you are going to miss out on a lot of great releases. Technology advances, it's the way of life, and I would say 8 years is long enough to start doing only Bluray releases.
