Ctyner is absolutely right! Worst genre movie all year. A total waste of money. Urban legends 2 at least had the typical cheese quality that made it fun! Bless the child was attempting to be a good movie. it's a sad piece of hollywood garbage. If you really need a DVD fix, go for an old classic you may not have, you will be better off.

I'll admit to enjoying Urban Legends as well, although as great as that one death was, it really didn't have anything to do with the rest of the movie. I wonder if it was added in after principal photography was completed solely to up the gore quotient a touch.
If you really want to see Bless The Child, rent it. |

I too enjoyed Urban Legends: Final Cut, because the ultimate hottie Jessica Cauffiel was in it. It also had some decent kills.
As for Bless the Child, I haven't seen it, but will probably rent it before long.

Bless the Child is a terrible film. I will echo what Trauma said, in that they tried to make this film serious, but failed miserably. There is no humor, terrible acting, ugly "House on Haunted Hill" style CGI effects, and a lame plot. If this alone doesn't turn you off from getting the film, let me remind you that it is by Paramount, which means it will be way overpriced, and will contain shit for extras. A commentary and a trailer, and seeing as the film is so terrible, hearing the director explain it would make it all the more agonizing. Bring it on has a helluva lot of extras and is definitly a worthy pickup. Sorry to venture a little off from the horror post, but I bought both Porky's and Nerds double features and I can't be happier. Don't buy Bless The Child, it is shit.

Is this movie worthy of a purchase on dvd? Other than this, Revenge of The Nerds Double Feature & Porky's Double Feature...nothing else interesting seems to be coming out this week.
Asta.

I'd recommend Bring It On, but more to the point, Bless The Child is easily the worst genre movie I've ever seen theatrically. It's also behind only Boys And Girls as the worst movie I saw in 2000.
Awful special effects, wooden acting, filled with cliches, extraordinarily preachy, etc., etc., etc. Almost unwatchable. |

thanks for the info, I'll probably still get it heh (don't know much about Bring it On except cheerleaders or something) Everyone told me not to get Urban Legends Final Cut but I got it anyway and I enjoyed it probably because I had such low expectations. Also thought that one death scene was really cool.

Demon, Bless the Child is a steaming pile of shit! The CGI effects were laughable (Rats, winged demons, Satan, etc.) and the story was recycled garbage. Bad, bad Hollywood movie.
Rent The Believers instead.
