Yikes. This looks absolutely nuts. The NIN song is pretty played at this point, but man, that trailer was bizarre bizarre bizarre.

Looks like something I might've enjoyed when I was in high school...in 1996. But now, not so much.

Checked this out today and enjoyed it quite a bit. It was morbid and unique with tons of black comedy thrown into the mix. I'm going to have to look out for the main actress (AnnaLynne McCord) in the future as she gave the most stand out female performance I've seen since maybe Angela Bettis in May.

Saw it this weekend and Traci Lords was extraordinary. Really a terrific performance. Didn't expect it from her at all. It was so well balanced between evil coldness and genuine concern for her daughter.
The movie itself was tons of fun. I really enjoyed it. As previously mentioned, it did remind me a little bit of May, which, IMO, is a great thing. |

Whoa. That was one bizarre mind-fuck of a movie, and I loved every second of it. I was riveted to the screen. It's a subject we've seen before, the weird loner high school girl with major teen angst, but Pauline is not the quiet shy type usually depicted in these movies. She's not afraid to talk to people or tell her true feelings, she's just really really weird about it. And in the end, we find out that
I'm gonna listen to the commentary before this one goes back in the mail. Highly recommended. See it today.

Glad to see everyone enjoyed this as much as I did. Totally different from what I was expecting (When I fist saw the trailer I thought it was going to be complete shit), but thankfully I was dead wrong. Wow this movie was fucking out of control! Just when you think things can't get any weirder, they do! Great cast as well, the 90210 chick (sorry, can't think of her name) and Traci Lords really make this worth while thanks to their incredible performances. I suggest to everyone to track this down because it is one of the best horror films of this year.

An unexpected oddity! I loved Excision. Definitely a cult film along the lines of MAY, but visually more impressive. Great performances all around. The last scene is unforgettable. Recommended!

I liked it too but I felt that it showed its origins as an expanded short - the middle part has precious little plot. Conseqeuently it is easy to work out where this one is going and that lessens the impact of the finale.
On the plus side the dream sequences are disturbing and a little sick, there are some hilarious bits and the performances are great. I look forward to more work from the director. Also, was it just me or did Traci Lords' character look like Kathy Lee Gifford?

I watched this a couple weeks ago, and it was OK. Ran a bit too long, and knowing it was expanded from a short I think it probably works better as a short film (which I'd like to check out).
The "seduction" scene played out a bit like a short film I made 2 years ago... So I'm curious to see if the similarities existed in the short or only the feature, which my short predates.

Saw this on blu-ray today and just couldn't quite get into it. Lots of actors I enjoy and some well done scenes. Maybe they should have let John Waters direct this instead of having a small supporting role. The non ending was a big disappointment as well.
