When it comes to H2, everything about Shout!'s version is better. We don't know picture quality yet (although I imagine it'll be the same as Universal's), but we know we're getting the TV version along with 2 commentaries, deleted scenes, a new documentary from Red Shirt Pictures, original poster art, and more. It's gonna be one of the most stacked horror releases you'll see this year.

As far as this no deleted scenes on H4 business, I'm really disappointed. I'm a completest, so I'll be picking it up for the new director commentary, but Anchor Bay has lost even more appreciation from me with this move following on the dropping of previously existing (and really good) features. How the mighty have fallen.

The guy responded on facebook saying Anchor Bay got back to him and no deleted scenes will be included on this release. So....this has fewer special features now than the Divimax DVD? Ugh, fuck you Anchor Bay...

The question is why, though. Restoration costs, perhaps?

It's Anchor Bay, Doubt it's anything to do with costs, Probably just laziness or just plain ignorance on their part. They FU The Entity Blu too.

Shame they don't have the passion they had for this like they did when they were putting out the legendary run of DVD's years ago!

Yeah, it's nothing to do with costs, that's total bullshit.

You are absolutely correct...they're just a lazy studio going further down the tubes, plain and simple. They keep proving this fact again and again.

What better way to send a message than to cancel preorders - they'll get the message. We can't keep lining their pockets by purchasing products that are not everything they can be. Unless, of course, there aren't any deleted scenes that exist and it was just a typo - it's the only excuse I'll accept.

HalloweenMovies on facebook posted

Hi everyone. We are investigating the H4 footage situation, working closely with Anchor Bay this morning. No official press release has been sent out on this, because we are still working on it, so anything you have heard to the contrary is incorrect.

NEW stuff you get:
These are new transfers and new audio mixes. You also still get the new Dwight Little commentary on 4, and the new Don Shanks
commentary on 5. The H5 raw footage ("Halloween 5: On The Set") is an extended version of what you saw previously, and NOT simply the same little chunk of footage. It is a full 17 minutes.

OLD stuff you get:
H4- Ellie and Danielle commentary. Halloween 4/5 discussion panel from the convention. Trailer.

H5- Dominique, Danielle, and Jeffrey commentary. Halloween 5: original promo. Trailer.

We will let everyone know what we find out about the H4 footage as soon as we can.

Truthfully, I couldn't care less. I rarely, if ever, watch special features and I've never watched a special feature (or listened to a commentary) more than once. As long as the new transfers are worth it, I'll keep my pre-orders with Amazon.
