It could be worse, they could've have no extras at all and no menu!

I should be happy that at the very least that most of the previous DVD extras are ported over and that both films will get a new commentary each (glad Anchor Bay went an extra mile with that), but I'm still a little ticked off that the H4 Deleted Scenes won't (at least til we hear different) be on the Blu-ray. I've always stood behind Anchor Bay after what they given us in the past, but this was a low down dirty trick.

Major disappointment for me as I prefer visual extras over commentaries. A commentary would have to pull me into it almost immediately for me, most do not. Can't think of a single commentary that I've listened to all the way through. Well, personally the only remaining selling point would be spectacular PQ so these won't be on any shopping list until I see reviews.

Even if this had all the features that everyone hoped for & then some.

Why would someone pay $20 for a Blu-Ray ?

My advise would be to wait for them to go on sale & pick both parts 4 & 5 up for under $20. You waited this long, what's another few months?

Myself, I haven't paid over $10 for any single Blu-Ray movie in my collection. Take The Boogens for example, waited years ... I will wait longer until it's on sale.

Good point. I'm making an assumption based on what I read about their restoration process.

You must not have very many Criterion blu's. I rarely see them drop below $20. I on the other hand am off my nut. I paid $90 for the Watchmen Ultimate Cut Blu, $80 for the Criterion "The Third Man" and $70 for pre-ordering Happinet's "Day of the Dead."

So the crappiest sequel (Part 5) gets the most new extras. Fucking corporations - in a year or two they'll track down the fucking caterer and have him record a commentary and re-release it again in a spiffy new 8K transfer. Anything for a buck, right?

Fuck you AB

Anchor Bay just needs to let it go. They're obviously not even a remote shadow of their former selves so just give you're remaining horror titles to companies who actually give a shit about and understand what their fanbase wants like Scream Factory, Synapse or Blue Underground and stick to releasing shit like Metal Shifters and Super Hybrid. Do it right or don't fuckin' do it at all. You're embarassing yourselves at this point.

Yes, and that's what is puzzling and makes Anchor Bay even shittier. The newer shitty movies get solid releases, where the old genre classics get shafted.

Fuck Anchor Bay, they should just change their name to Starz and be done with it.

shafted or sold to image their entire new world catalogue is there as well as re animator and i am really surprised they let go of evil dead II but that deal was through studio canal. they also let go of the sleepaway camp trilogy and silent night deadly night 1 and 2 but they acquired/going to release the silent night remake. also they are going to put out mother's day 1980 on blu/dvd sept 4th because they got the remake ala both i spit on your grave films. maybe silent night the original has a good chance of getting new treatment!!!
Also makes me wonder if they even have the rights to the 3 phantasm films still and demons 1 and 2???

Most importantly 2013 is a anniversary year for Halloween 1978 i wonder if we will be getting a new blu-ray release transfer but being the lazy ass anchor bay or more importantly Starz we will probably just get a reissue with maybe the tv cut in hd.

I really wish some other studio had these...Shout Factory for example.

If AB doesn't care for The Entity or even the Halloween sequels, the future does not bode well for these at all.
