and when is Black Christmas '06 going to get a US Blu-ray release? I know it was released on BD in Canada, but that release is interlaced. I guess it's too much to ask for a 1080p release...

And on that note, I just added Prom Night to my Netflix queue so I can see how bad it actually is! |

Halloween in a landslide for me - Black Christmas is one of the worst horror remakes I have seen- I actually dont mind the Halloween remake

Not a fan of either. But if I had to choose...Halloween because it had a great soundtrack.

They are both pretty bad but I went with Halloween.
I hated the Black Christmas remake. It was just too damn weird and was nothing at all like the Bob Clark classic. I actually liked the Halloween remake when I first saw it in theatres, although it gets worse every time I go back to it. Don't even get me started on part 2! That being said there are some things I like about it so I gave it the upper hand. I don't mind Zombie as a Director, I actually like his first two films. He just needs to stop writing his scripts and rednecking everything! It was tolerable in his first two films, not so much with the Halloween flicks. Unfortunately it doesn't look like he is shying away from it with his new flick, which is too bad as it is really getting old. As for The Fog vs Prom Night debate, even though I haven't seen Prom Night yet I have a hard time believing it can be worse then The Fog remake. You know what the sad part is? I own all four (Haven't been brave enough to watch prom Night yet though). Last edited by spawningblue; 08-15-2012 at 01:35 AM. |

Saw both of these theatrically and while I didn't think it was all that great Halloween was still better than Black Christmas.

I can't vote since I haven't seen either. Well, unless you count DVRing the Halloween remake and fast-forwarding to get to Danielle Harris' topless scene...

Both movies suck but Black Christmas is still better than Zombie's White Trash Halloween if for no other reason than its success in capturing the season better than Zombieween. And Mr. Prey, Prom Night certainly did suck donkey balls, but I still think The Fog was worse. Prom Night almost seemed about 10 years late, as if it belonged in the string of slashers that followed the success of Scream. If the casting were different it totally could have been a Lifetime movie. Think Kellie Martin in the lead and Judith Light as the obsessed psychotic teacher. Now THAT would be a movie worth watching! |

They're both terrible movies, but Black X-Mas gets the slasher elements and Christmas season down pat. A shame it's ruined by over-the-top story and background over-information.
