Christine Blu-ray: Twilight Time March 2013 Official Thread

If none of you object, I created this thread mainly as the place to go in order to learn about the preorder date. Judging from what I've read on other blogs, many people missed out on "NOTLD '90" despite it's availability for a week and the two disc limit after 2600 had sold. Many of these people are already overspending on eBay. I think we can all agree that "Christine" will not last a week before selling out. I have you fine people to thank for letting me know that "NOTLD '90" was available, and I want to ensure that this thead will prevent dissapointment for those that want to add "Christine" to their collections. Thank you.

As I said in another thread, they better have that two disc limit from the start for this one.

There were people counting down til sellout on Blu-ray.com like it was New Year's Eve. It was actually kind of fun watching the numbers getting smaller and then listening to people whine that they never had a chance to grab a copy. It was genius on Twilight Time's part to have NOTLD '90 available for sale right before the premiere of Walking Dead Season 3 and the Halloween season - the title likely sold out based on that rather than opportunists wanting to resell. As for Christine, well I'm going to be there the moment it goes up for preorder. That one's gonna break all kinds of records on popularity alone.

I actually think I might pass on this. I own the Special Edition DVD. Even though I'm sure it will look great on blu, my up-converted DVD is more than watchable. Maybe if it was cheaper, but otherwise I'm good for now.

The main reason I could justify the $34 price-tag on Night Of The Living Dead is because I don't own the DVD of that one.

Pre-orders go up on the SAE website at 4pm (Eastern ST) about 25 days* before release date. That's how I knew to be on the website when the pre-order for NOTLD '90 went up. Once we learn the exact street date for Christine we'll be able to figure out when the pre-orders will be available.

*You can go to their website http://screenarchives.com and scroll down to the August 8 announcement to get confirmation of the 25 day window.

I recommend the DVD still. The making of featurette is excellent.

Another release to look forward to... I hope they limit it to 1 per customer because no one needs more than 1 copy. Sure, some will get around it but it could mean that up to twice as many people get a copy if they set the limit to 1 instead of 2, if they do a limit.

I highly doubt it. The release was probably planned for around the Halloween season, yes, but there is no way in hell one week (FOR PREORDERS, mind you) is enough time for even the higher end casual fans of the zombie genre to have secured a copy.

I bet you 98%+ of the pre-orders are either collectors, die-hard fans, or resellers... with the majority making up the latter.

It would be nice for TT to implement a one per customer system for the Christine release, but they are in no way obligated to.

I think he meant Night Of The Living Dead, which I don't own on DVD.

I'd probably only watch the "making-of" once, so I'm fine with just the movie in hi-def.

Disappointed Twilight is releasing this since they won't include all the awesome DVD extras. That being said, like NOTLD, I'll pick this one up.

Word on the street is Christine will likely be released in March--so the pre-order would go up in mid-February.

I've also heard through the grapevine that TT let the cat out of the bag regarding another horror title they've procured--The Other (1972, Fox). It's obviously not a big name title like Christine, but it does look kinda sweet.
