Another batch of $10 blus from the Miramax / Echo Bridge deal:

Biollante is one of my favorite Godzilla films so I'm hoping the blu-ray is a good transfer. I had the Japanese import laserdisc box set which was great except that there weren't any English subtitles. It's also one of the few Godzilla films I don't currently have in my video library.

I'll be buying Biollante for sure as well. Any Godzilla on blu is a must buy for me.

So what's the deal with Megalon? Is Tokyo Shock going to release a Blu-ray of this or what? The DVD is priced low enough that it's tempting, but I don't wanna be too hasty and buy it if there's gonna be a Blu-ray coming around the corner. Anyone know?

Personally, I doubt we'll ever see a BD of Megalon from MB. I would like to be proven wrong. The DVD looks pretty good. I was planning on having both a DVD and BD, so picking up the DVD was a no brainer for me and if the BD ever gets released, I'll get it too.
It's good to see that EB is at least treating one title right in their Miramax deal. Now if Return of Godzilla/85 could just get a R1/A release! |

Or would they be with Shout Factory now, since they are releasing stuff from the New World catalog?

The rights for G'85 is a mess. Basically, it's not really known who holds the home video rights for North America. I have the Return of Godzilla on R3 dvd. But I would like a properly release that features Return as well as the G'85 edits. While we're at it, I'd like to see Sony release Godzilla 2000 on Blu-ray but contain the Japanese version as well as the US edit.

I would have said the same thing about a Megalon DVD (and probably did). At this point in the game I'd rather stick with Blu-ray releases though. I can wait a few years for someone to release it.
