American Horror Story: Asylum (season 2)
Heads up! American Horror Story season 2 premieres tonight on FX. It's the best horror themed show on television right now, or at least the first season was (and yes, I'm well aware of The Walking Dead, which I also watch regularly)
I've heard that some DVRs are not recording tonight's episode even if you saved it last year, due to the name change of "Asylum". Mine is, but be sure yours are as well.

Good catch. I didn't notice it on my DVR schedule today.

The IT guy in my office and I were at odds over whether American Horror Story or Walking Dead was the better show last season. I enjoy Walking Dead well enough when I'm not yawning at the melodrama but the first season of American Horror Story was probably the best thing on television since Twin Peaks. Game on, IT guy!

I do like AHS better than Walking Dead, but I watch both and enjoy both. Seriously, arguing over it is like arguing over sex positions. Sure, you may like one more than the other, but can you actually say you DISLIKE one?

Well, the 'Rusty Trombone' is not a personal favorite by any means.

I'm so excited
Did any of you watch the first 5 minutes that were posted online?

I'm currently watching Season 1 of American Horror Story on Blu-ray. Eight episodes in and pretty awesome. I expect even more crazy shit in the last four episodes. Is it too soon to expect a Season 3?

First episode was great. Except I have no clue what's going on.
But that's what I love about the show. It keeps you on your toes. Can't wait for next Wednesday!

Unless things go horribly wrong during Asylum, I'd call it a safe bet. It was one of FX's more popular shows in it's first season.

I had the episode on, but I was just listening to it. Did they pour the pig's blood on the prom queen?

ok, this explains why they kept referring to american horror story as a miniseries during the [whatever the TV version of the oscars is] awards. i was wondering about that. so its to be a different story each season?
that actually gets my interest. im usually uninterested in tv because i figure it will go either one of two ways - either it will be a popular show, in which case they will prolong the conclusion so as to make more money, draining the show of any energy it may have once had and making the plot so wrapped up in its own mythology that it no longer makes any sense (i.e. Lost or The X-Files). Or it won't be popular, in which case they will cancel it before a satisfactory ending can be achieved (I imagine this was the case with Alcatraz, although i didn't watch it, so can't comment on whether or not it was actually any good). either way, no matter how interesting it may be, it won't end in a satisfying way. however, this structure for american horror story sounds like just what i would like - long-form storytelling with a guarenteed conclusion. hopefully no padding or rushing. i may have to take a look... |
