Silent Night, Deadly Night Double Feature blu-ray from Anchor Bay!

Just saw this on bluray.com: http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=9804

Streets on December 4th. I'm stoked. Almost all my favorite slasher films have hit blu ray. Was NOT expecting them to release this.

About fucking time... if it's true. Anchor Bay will probably find some way to screw it up though.

It seems strange that a Blu-ray edition is not on AB's website, or yet on pre-order anywhere like the DVD double-feature and remake that come out the same day.

I have a bad feeling this announcement is incorrect on blu-ray.com's part. I think it's a DVD-only rerelease.

Yeah, blu-ray.com is not the most reliable site on the Internet. I'll believe it if or when there's an official announcement which I wouldn't hold my breath for. Anchor Bay has this listed on their site as DVD only and I have a feeling that that's all we're going to get.

this and the fact everywhere only the dvd rerelease is being shown for pre order!!! i wish it were true but as of right now it's 99% false i hope i'm wrong though.

And now the link says "No such news." I found on one of the topics that it was for the DVD re-release of the 2-pack. Typical.

Look at it this way, you don't have to pay outrageous prices when the re-release is a measly 10 bucks tops.

It'd be a tough one to do in hi-def, too -- their prior release had to insert the "unrated" gore footage from a tape master, since no film elements could be located. Unless this changes, I can't see them going the the blu route (though I'd love for an intact negative to pop up!)

Was thinking the same thing and hoping they didn't pull the same BS Blue Underground pulled with The Nesting but it doesn't sound like I have to worry now. :/

This would've been so cool but leave it to Anchor Bay to disappoint us yet again. Anyone remember when AB used to be cool and everything they dropped used to be golden? I miss those days!!!

And when they do still manage to release something good, they flip a coin to see just what they can screw up on the release!

It sounds like Blu-ray.com were the ones to screw up with this news though. I kind of doubt they got the info from Anchor Bay, but nothing would surprise me.
