Not sure if it's already been posted here:

a "stand-alone story" going direct to dvd with no returning actors, AND filmed in Romania? Sign me up! This has quality written all over it!

It will probably be Return of the Living Dead 4&5 quality.

Hmm. The cast members they've assembled for the DTV sequel look similar to David Tennant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Anton Yelchin, but the girl they cast for Amy doesn't look a thing like Imogen Poots.

I don't know why they actually resurrected Evil Ed for the sequel. Stranger things have happened...

from the synopsis:
"When high school student Charlie attends a study abroad program with his horror obsessed friend “Evil” Ed and ex-girlfriend AMY in Romania, he soon discovers their young attractive professor Gerri (Jaime Murray) is a real life vampire. Too bad no one believes him. In fact, Evil Ed finds it amusing and it only feeds his vampire obsession. When Gerri turns Ed, Charlie seeks out Peter Vincent, the infamous vampire hunter (well, he plays one on TV) who is in Romania filming his show “Fright Night,” to teach him how to take down Gerri before she gets to Amy, who’s blood will cure Gerri of spending eternity as a vampire."

Ed is alive, nobody believes Charlie about the vampire thingy, Ed is turned...again.
Why the hell bring the characters back, if the continuity is fucked up like this?
They basically rebooted the thing.
Couldn´t they just have added new lead characters instead?

I just finished watching this. As expected, it was pretty generic and lame, the acting was kind of bad all around (except for Jaime Murray ).
