Lee Thompson, 1987), starring Charles Bronson as justice seeking former architect turned vigilante Paul Kersey, to Blu-ray disc.

Exact technical specifications have't been disclosed yet for the three features but some extras are promised.

Death Wish II

After moving to L.A. to start a new life, muggers attack Kersey's house and daughter, who subsequently dies. Overcome by grief and rage, adopting an alias, he seeks again the ones responsible to make sure they end up dead.

Death Wish 3

The police suspect Kersey hasn't stopped dispensing justice and while visiting a friend in New York, he's found inside the apartment just moments after his friend got a deadly beating by a gang, and is arrested. The police offer him a deal that he can go and continue his work as long as he keeps them informed. Though he denies being involved in killing any criminals, he goes out and set up a trap for the ones responsible for his friend's attack.

Death Wish 4: The Crackdown

Kersey is retired from his old ways back in L.A. One of his friend's daughters dies of a crack overdose. After Kersey witnesses the girl's boyfriend being murdered at the hands of a drug dealer to keep him quiet, he's asked by someone to clean up the rival drug gangs. What will Kersey do.

Now... if only Paramount would release the first film on Blu-ray. But knowing them, they'd claim it wouldn't make them any money.

Does MGM own the fifth film as well? That is the only one I haven't seen.

Nope, Lionsgate holds the rights.

Ohh yes, Death Wish 3 on hi-def. Getting some serious pop corn for that. I downloaded a 1080p version of the first one in case you can't wait for a blu, there should still be around.

I'm going to come down the mountain and get my Pancake Ass to Best Buy on day one to get these. I just hope at least they're in Dobby Digital.

Death Wish 3 is my favorite of the sequels, but I will probably pick up all three (provided they are in widescreen). The dvds were all full frame if I recall.

great news, this has got to be a good sign for more catalogue titles getting releases on Blu-Ray, here's hoping!!!

will definately get part 3, a guilty pleasure of mine, can't see these being anything but widescreen so don't think there will be an issue there, i really don't expect part 2 to be released uncut though.

i highly doubt death wish 2 will be the uncut version if mgm is putting it out. its just gonna be the 3 films crossed over from dvd put onto blu-ray. there wont be anyhting worth getting excited about. execpt maybe 2 and 3 will be widescreen not full frame.

I'm still shocked they released Troll 2 on Blu-ray, so there is hope for cult classics in HD.

I have to agree. I remember seeing this uncut on Cinemax in the eighties, absolutely brutal. I have a Greek bootleg that looks pretty good. The MGM version will be cut and immasculated.
