Shout rolls out more John Carpenter classics

Just fucking incredible that these are coming, couldn't be happier:

From Shout's facebook, with an assist from blu-ray dot com:

Since we started this week with a John Carpenter film announcement (Body Bags) it is fitting with end it with another...The master's 1987 cult classic PRINCE OF DARKNESS - our #1 most requested title - will be coming this fall and presented as a Collector's Edition on DVD and Blu-ray!

We have no more details to report at this time (i.e. street date, extras, etc.) but will reveal more in the next few months. Have a great weekend!

That's right, Body Bags and Prince of Darkness should be on blu by year's end! Dance motherfuckers!:ban ana:

Very, very cool. Now all of the attention can be placed on getting In The Mouth Of Madness on blu-ray!

Is Shout trying to put all of us in the poor house?! LOL

I'm glad there is a company out there willing to release these films on blu-ray!

I'm thinking that all of those films are either going to be released in the Warner Archive or not at all.

Seeing is how those are New Line films, I bet eventually they'll be released through retail. It is interesting to know however if (unreleased) New Line titles will be part of the Archive.

Never seen Prince of Darkness. But I'll most likely be buying it. I like pretty much all of Carpenter's films from this period.
