Phantom of the Opera (Chaney) blu-ray is OOP!!

The prices are already ridiculous on Amazon and eBay (it's backordered at BestBuy). I was able to order a copy from Walmart (ship to store) for $25 only ten minutes ago. I don't want those who want this to miss out.

Would have liked to own this, but I'm not going to seek it out at higher prices. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets another blu-ray release down the line. Maybe even Criterion?

I'm fine with waiting.

Any confirmation that this has gone fully OOP? Hopefully it's just short on stock... Milestone has had a release in the pipeline for awhile now, it's probably coming out this Fall.

It's funny, I never got around to replacing my Blu-ray with the corrected disc because it would cost an extra few bucks to mail it. Now I'm considering doing it.

No confirmation other than the prices getting crazy. That usually means it's going OOP in my experience as far as blu-ray's are concerned.

I purchased the Blu-Ray when it first came out, because my husband is a huge fan of this movie, to the point that on his right side, he got a tattoo of Lon Chaney Sr. as Phantom of the Opera. This is why, whenever there is a Blu-Ray that comes out, I usually buy it when it first comes out, because you never know when it will go out of print.

Well, crap. Even though Fry's said "in stock" when I ordered it, now they're saying my order is "backordered." I put that in quotes because if it's really out of print, I don't see much source to "backorder" from.

I have read reports that people were still getting the uncorrected disc from Amazon as recentl6y as February, so I'm curious whether this is truly OOP or whether Image simply recalled all remaining inventory so that they can then be replaced with the corrected disc.

Good point. I haven't thought of that. The only blu-ray's I've ever purchased that needed to be sent back was the first season of The Twilight Zone and Universal's Halloween II disc (though that doesn't really count). I've seen Amazon and others say that a specific title wasn't available while they straightened out the issues, but I've never seen them just not offer it at all. This reminds me of the Zodiac blu-ray debacle, where it just got pricier and pricier and then poof, it was gone.
