You know what I always found funny in this film? In the opening scene where Bernadette is walking and trips over Winston's cord and he's barking at her, the principal waited a LONG ASS time to tell Winston to stop. It's like she had it out for this chick or something.
I dunno, the way that particular sequence is edited makes the whole thing seem odd and out-of-place. ~Matt

the blue case this is in seems to be where they got their savings - it is the flimsiest and least sturdy packaging since the old cardboard trays dvds were rolled out in.

Sony uses these same cases on their Blu-ray releases now. Most other major studios use the eco cases with the cut-outs.

Anyone in Canada find any of these yet? My walmart had a few of these including Hostel 1,2 and Puppet Masters/Deep Rising but no luck finding this.

Totally missed this...that's awesome. I've got a quote on the Blu-ray for THE PROWLER too, but it's just attributed it to "Horror Digital". Pretty cool to see your name on the back of studio disc, and for a film from my favorite sub-genre. Now...to go about acquiring one of those discs!

So do any of these other double features sets have any of their DVD extras, or are they all barebones?

I believe they are all barebones. I know for certain the Hostel/Hostel II release is.

Actually, besides the Hostel and Stranger sets, all the others seem to have the trailers.
We used to call that barebones though, so I guess we still should. Although doesn't Hostel 1 have the alternate ending at least? You lose tons of features on that set, only trailers on the Stranger set as the dvds never had shit to begin with.![]() For the good stuff, I finally got around to watching Birthday last night. Very impressive for such a cheap disc to look so good. It looks better than many catalog releases that cost 3-5X! Great job whoever did the transfer for this one. I had forgot about that opening scene, very strange how it plays. That kind of shit only works in the movies, anyone in real life could've seen the fucking dog! ![]() ![]() ![]() I have one last copy from my store in hand in anyone wants it. |

They finally had this at my local Wal-Mart. I nabbed a copy.
I checked there back when news first broke and they didn't have it. I don't go in there very often, but whenever I do, it seems like they never have what I'm looking for. So I was very pleasantly surprised this time. |

I have officially cleared my store out, all copies spoken for. I could go check the other store, they never have anything but have to have something someday, or at least I keep telling myself that. I'll do it for you fuckers though!
