I was just wondering the other day why I don't own this DVD. Good thing I didn't pick it up yet. I'll definitely be grabbing this one.

A newer, better hi-def transfer than the DVD (which was already very good)? I'm in.

Hobos beware! The most heinous hooch of all time finally hits hi-def -- Synapse Films bring Jim Muro's STREET TRASH (1987) to blu ray! When an uncovered case of balmy booze named Tenefly Viper hits the streets for a buck a bottle, the transient population of Statewide Auto Parts' junkyard get more than they bargained for -- this caustic concoction literally rots their insides out in a series of fantastically grotesque technicolor meltdowns. Amazingly, these set-pieces only serve to punctuate the outrageously un-PC tale of vagrancy, complete with crazed 'Nam vets (including flashback), multiple participant necrophilia (including syphilis), an acetylene tank decapitation (including arterial spray), and even a game of "hot potato" played with a severed penis (including school bus full of children). Filled to the brim with incredible camerawork and hilariously quotable dialogue, STREET TRASH remains one of the '80s' greatest treasures.
Supplements generally replicate Synapse's 2006 DVD, including director and producer commentaries, the original 16mm short used to help raise financing, trailers, stills collections, and best of all, Roy Frumkes' THE MELTDOWN MEMOIRS (2006), a phenomenal feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary chronicling the whole project from beginning to end. Also included are a pair of blu ray exclusives: a new interview with actress Jane Arakawa (who was still MIA when MEMOIRS was completed) and some deleted scenes! All add up to an essential release, and an upgrade I'll make without hesitation. Blu-Ray Preorder: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ag=cinema09-20 Trailer: http://youtu.be/6jYpiGgqT5Q

Delayed for a month - looks like a bad run-in with a transfer house.
