Amityville The Possession Collectors Edition
So I just found out the UK have a collectors edition of Amityville 2 which just so happens to be my favourite sequel of the franchise. I couldn't help myself so I ordered it. I was wondering who has the set and what it's like? How does it compare to the US MGM dvd (which I also have)?

If it's the one from a few years back, I do have that one, it does have a good commentary and features. It's been a while since I've watched that DVD though.

I bought the SE of this with Amityville 3D SE
Its really good, great picture and sound quality....it was nice to have a commentary by two well known film historians too.

The SE of Amityville 3D is quite expensive and the 3D isn't meant to be too great.

This really is the best Amityville movie. Faster paced than the original, absurd and disturbing plot elements, and overall just really entertaining.

had to check it out again
the picture was generally excellent with an avg bitrate og 8 Mbps and the surround was enveloping with some directionalty as well a mono( maybe surround 2.0 track a 5.1 track along with commentary). along with the five lobbycards you get a booklet which was pretty interesting to say the least. All packaged in an attractive slip cover. going to check out part three next

I should look into getting this. Part 2 was definitely the best of the series and the only movie which has any truth to it. Part 1 was based on the hoax while the first half of Part 2 is based on the Defeo family that originally lived there and the murders that occured.

I just spun this R2 the other night (my Region-free player seems to be on the verge of a breakdown, so I am trying to play them all now) with the commentary track. The track is a lot of fun although it didn't tell me much that I didn't already know. The other extras are nice as well, if you like things like Lobby Cards. I would recommend it to fans of the film without a second thought.

It crosses some lines especially when it comes to the incest bit. You have to admire a movie with some balls. As a prequel the only thing I can say they didn't get right (besides the mucked up ending) was that the son should have had a beard.

I was tempted to get the 3D collectors edition but it's a bit pricey and the 3D is said to be bad.

It does look like it's packaged nice. Never really a fan of the 3rd though. Amityville Curse is probably the worst. It's not even in the Amityville house.
