I would think it still remains with MGM. But considering their current financial troubles, I really wouldn't expect it to hit Blu anytime soon.

Hell yes we need this on blu ray NOW! But considering how long it took to come out on DVD, it might be a while
Unfortunately the movie companies don't seem in a hurry to get out their older horror films on blu ray.

I hope so...
But probably not for several years until Blu-Ray becomes a "commodity." |

Blu-Ray is already a huge commodity, Accounting for just 8% of home video sales in 2008 up to 27% in 2009 and growing daily.

I'd rather worry about the films that haven't made it to DVD before I start thinking about upgrading the less than 3 year old DVD of The Burning.

Eventually, I'd like a Blu of The Burning. But yeah, I'd definitely rather see new stuff that's never been on DVD before first.

That is some kick ass art, fcheurich - thanks for sharing! I love everything about it. Though I'm a big fan of The Burning, I never bemoaned the lack of a sequel - until now! "Cropsey lives - you won't!"

It would be nice...but I'm just happy it finally came out on DVD and I could give my kid my boot copy!
Yeah, cool cover for the imagined sequel, love the background more than the foreground, but nice work.

I would buy a blu-ray of The Burning in a heartbeat, especially if Scream Factory were involved.
However, the DVD still looks pretty outstanding upconverted on a blu-ray player. I even occasionally noticed a bit of that 3D effect you often see with HD. I love the film, but there are hundreds of other movies that would benefit more from the upgrade to HD. |

Did anyone catch a glimpse at this incredible poster the Alamo Drafthouse did for The Burning?
