Hotel (2004)

If you like your horror subtle, moody and interpretive then here is the film for you. I first caught up with this in 2004 at TIFF and wasn't sure what to make of it at the time. It was a 10pm screening after work and I just was way too tired for this kind of slow burn. Yet the imagery and tone had me thinking about from time to time ever since. Fast forward almost a decade later and I finally got a change to pick it up on DVD from the UK (still isn't released in North America). Well It didn't disappoint and really hit this spot this time around. If you enjoyed films like Windigo, Picnic at Hanging rock or Cache. I would recommend giving this one a go.
