Child killings in horror

Maybe it is a sick topic but..whatever its horror. I was watching Maximum Overdrive and when the kid got rolled over by the cement roller in the park (I couldnt help but laugh) but it got me thinking about children getting killed in horror movies. I remember seeing it before but nothing stuck with me. Anything stick with you?

Already a thread on this in Polls a while back, and the widest opinion there was that the best child killing was in the opening scene of Don't Look Now. I tend to agree, as it's a brilliant scene.

The first child killing that I learned to love, though, was in The Blob '88. You know, the little blond bastard that couldn't keep his mouth shut about the slasher movie to his friend's mom. He deserved what he got.

There were some child killings in the not great but I still liked it movie, Carved: The Slit Mouthed Woman. One scene seemed especially gruesome to me, although hardly any actual gore was shown. It was the sound effects man.

For some reason the killing of the zombie children in the beginning of Dawn of the Dead has always got to me.

I think Gage's death in Pet Sematary is pretty effective, but nowhere near as harrowing as when his casket gets knocked over at his funeral.

I applaud the majority of filmmakers who have had integrity to not to exploit the deaths of children in films. Subsequently, a pet peeve of mine is using a child in peril as a cheap form of tension.

Carpenters Assualt on Precinct 13 made me almost puke.

I don't want to spoil it for any of you who have not seen it.
Just take my advice it's a bit distrubing. "hint"

How could I forget that one? That is very effective and breaks my heart every time I watch it.

The scene where the kid gets run over in Toxic Avenger is pretty hilarious.

Oh man, first time in the theater I laughed out loud after that scene from The Beyond. Even though there were a lot of giggles from the rest of the theater at different parts, I think I was the only one that laughed at that. Still makes me smile.

Riget has a pretty harrowing death of a child. Sadly that's not even the end of the horrors that happen with her.
