Fright Night 2 DVD

Sorry if this has been asked already but how likely are we to see another release of Fright Night 2 in the future? I know the rights issue is complicated and someone mentioned that Lionsgate owns the rights but since the studio is now defunct no one can now get the rights to it. Is this true? Do you think with the release of Fright Night 2 remake direct to DVD in October it will increase the chances of the original FN2 being released? Did Cliff at Shout really say that he's not interested in looking into acquiring the rights to it even with the demand out there for it?

I'm sure someone has the rights to it. Lionsgate sure did a terrible job on the old DVD. I recorded an HD broadcast sometime back that presented the film in it's original scope ratio. Not a bad sequel really. I've wondered if John Carpenter cast Julie Carmen in In the Mouth of Madness because of this flick (knowing that he's friends with Tommy Lee Wallace).

Just get a copy of the HD rip and make a DVD out of it. I did that. It'll hold me over until a legit blu-ray release comes about. Perhaps Shout! could grab it one day?

Yeah, the old DVD is pretty bad quality but now worth a bit of money. It doesn't seem to be rare though considering there are multiple listings for it on ebay every day.

I do hope a blu ray of it will come out eventually. But it doesn't look good considering not even the original got a normal release ( not limited copies) on blu ray.
