There was a rumour going on that MPAA requested some cuts to this movie, but the version that was released theatrical here in Sweden, never cut away from any of the chainsaw violence. Either we got an uncut version or MPAA let it pass?

R-rated Lionsgate movies usually get away with a LOT of violence and gore.

I'm really on the fence about this. If the reviews state that the 3D is exceptional than I may bite.

Thanks for the heads up.
I enjoyed it, fun throwback to the eighties slasher/horror film.
Must pick this up at some point.

Blu-ray version will have both 3d and regular versions. I like when BDs are like this. While I don't have a 3d TV right now, one day I may have one, so it's nice to already have discs in that format.

It sounds better than it is. There was that nightmare with faulty copies of Dredd all over (mostly Best Buy) and that was the same thing as this. I'd love if it was 2 discs, but stuffing both on 1 side and all these feature is gonna fuck the a/v quality off the top. I saw some screen bewteen the US and French Dredd BD's yesterday and it was no comparison, the US one sucks ass! The French with just the 2D version looks so much better. No sir, don't like em. I like that I have Final Destination 5 in 3D on a seperate disc, I hate these dual discs as quality suffers greatly.
Of course if this rated R after all the obvious cuts I've heard about, it won't matter as it will library only for me. Unrated or die!

What was cut out of the R-rated version?
As I said above, the theatrical version released in Sweden didn´t cut away from anything, and you got to see a guy cut in half etc in closeup.
Was there entire scenes of violence removed?

There must have been a scene in which someone was smoking. That's a big issue nowadays.

I'm just speculating, but there was a scene in the opening that had Leatherface torturing the Truck Driver on a meat hook - Hence, why when Drayton enters the kitchen to scold Leatherface there's blood everywhere. Not sure if it was cut for gores sake or time. Luessenhop is a stickler for a quick pace!
