Well if the theatrical was tones down, then the unrated must be insanely brutal, and I would love me some more nasty shit.

Hopefully weŽll get news about the rating soon. But I wouldnŽt be surprised if they release the R-rated now, and then re-release it full uncut next year when the sequel hits the theaters.

Well if lionsgate bones everyone with an R version, maybe alliance Canada will step up and put out the uncut like they did with "The Possession"

The fact that the promo covers don't say unrated makes em fear it won't be. Please prove me wrong, but I got $5 on it being theater cut just from the promos.

I was actually pretty surprised how much they got away with for an R rating. It'd be nice to have both cuts, however.

I'm stoked and all over this. I own a 3D TV and Blu-Ray Player and saw it in the theaters. The 3D was okay, nothing to ride home about, so I'm glad that 2D is going to included in this. A really great remake in 3D was My Bloody Valentine, but that was because Jensen Ackles was in it, and I do own the 3D Blu-Ray of it.

This is sounding more and more like a purchase to me. If it comes with an Unrated cut I will be picking it up for sure.

I'm hoping it has an unrated cut. The talk was that stuff had to be cut and would show up on blu, but the same thing was said for Piranha 3D and that never happened.

They're always saying there's going to be an unrated cut when the Blu-ray comes out but more often than not it doesn't happen. I don't know if it's a marketing ploy or just people connected with the film (or otherwise) saying something they're not authorized to say - all I know is, it's annoying. I think studios are past the "director's cut as an incentive" gimmick.

It's not a good marketing ploy if that's what they're trying to do. I end up holding off buying if I think an alternate cut is going to come out so they lose the initial sale from me.
