Gutterballs 2: Balls Deep (2015)

Last December-January, Plotdigger was taking donations to get the film funded. There were "perks" listed with accompanying prices. For example, a BD of the original Gutterballs was listed as a perk for a $30 donation. The perks were supposed to be mailed out during the months of May, June, and July. To date, I have not received any of mine. Did any of you participate in this? If so, have you received anything? I sent a message to plotdigger on their facebook page and received no response.

Wish someone gave a heads up when they were first having donations to get the film funded.

I get a response any time I email them about the items I STILL haven't received from a pre-order I placed back in 2013. The stuff I did receive was extremely disappointing too because after a wait of over a year the movies I've received so far have all been DVD-R and BD-R bullshit. I didn't participate in the crowdfunding of Gutterballs 2 and I haven't ordered a copy of the rough cut of it that they're selling, even though I really want it, because of all this. :/

OT: Last year, I help crowdfund a local band's album. The amount I plunked down was supposed to get an invite to an open-bar record release event. Never happened. Instead, I got a free download of the album.

Never crowdfunding again. Sorry you guys are feeling the burn, too. It's a bummer to support something and then have it bite you.

this go fund me shit, and all this stuff is getting out of hand, with everyone asking for fans to give them money to make their movies. I did one thing like that, and had to wait like 3 times longer than they told me to get my items, so I'm never doing that again. I figure I"m lucky I got them at all now that I think about it. And everyone is wanting money to release a movie on blu ray and dvd and stuff, if you can't afford to release it on DVD or blu ray leave it to the big boys, because you're obviously working out of your parents basement. Sorry but that's what I picture these guys who run these kinds of "businesses" as being. I mean nothing wrong with living in your parents basement, but don't call yourself a legit business and all that and pretend you got a big enterprise when you got a 1984 atari computer and your working in your parents 4X8 cubicle they boxed off in their basement.

I agree, there's some guy on another board trying to raise 100K to publish a damned book of a seventies' band's pictures and some members are bragging about making $500.00 donations.
What happens if it never comes to pass? I don't get this.

Depends on the project, and the people behind it. I only support things I actually WANT that I don't think will get done otherwise.

But wasn't that shot on SD video?

This crowdfunding shit is getting out of hand.
They made the first movie without any kickstarter crap.
And with all the different versions they sold, including the shitty XXX version, you would think that they got enough money back, to use it on this one.

There is a new kickstarter/crowdfund every damn day for some shitty indie movie/project. Most of them don't make it, or the perks never arrive.
Worst of all, are the fundings where they keep the money, even though they don't reach the goal, and they can just grab the money and run.

I contributed to a movie once on kickstarter (don't remember which one). It was funded, and as far as I know no rewards were ever sent out and the guy running it never responded to any emails about them.

I'm much more selective about who I support now.

Wow. Sorry to hear so many of you have had such bad experiences with this type of stuff. I had never contributed to a fund like this before, but I liked the original Gutterballs and I really wanted to see a sequel. Gutterballs 2 reached its goal of $20,000 and then some. I don't remember how many perks I purchased, but my total was around $90.

On a side note, I did get an email telling me that the perks are now being sent throughout July and August...

I've never contributed to any kind of kickstarter stuff and never will.
Though I do feel a bit sorry for people like Rob Zombie who had to get his latest funded because studios don't seem to be interested in his stuff anymore, but are willing to finance tons of forgettable PG-13 crap. But then again, when was the last time a Rob Zombie movie fully delivered?

if studios aren't interested in Rob Zombies movies it's for one reason and one reason only it's because they don't make any money, the studios are whores, they will make anything that makes money, they'd make any kind of film there is if it would make them a profit. They'd have made Gutterballs the original film if they thought it'd bring in a big enough profit, but obviously the film didn't bring in MUCH of a profit as the makers can't even afford to make a sequel without asking for donations from fans.

If this is anything like the first one I'll definitely get the Blu.

I have to agree. Not that the film was great movie making but it's what a low budget slasher should be.
