I can't believe this movie (A) still finds distribution and that (B) people actually enjoy it. I'm all for opinions, but this has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen that actually has some sort of fan base. But I do appreciate companies that offer obscure titles.

Agreed. I hold this film right up there with Manos. It's fucking terrible. It's only worth watching for the highly unconvincing (yet awesomely campy) tacked on US ending.

I'm pretty sure it's only surviving because of the controversy surrounding it upon its release.

Always had a soft spot for SNUFF. dwatts and I had some fun debates about it back in the day. I think Findlay's original film is pretty fun and then the tacked on ending is just one of those things...meta, outlandish, gory, silly, overacted, wild, take your pick. I loved the way Blue Underground packaged the previous release, without a menu or any credits and cased in that winkled paper bag packaging, but I agree, a film with it's marketing genius really deserves some extras to put its feat in context. Excited to watch it again after what must have been a decade already. How time flies.

As I do. In fact it isn't a bad film at all it's just the bad dubbing that hurt it, but it is nice to recognize the voice of Michael Findlay (he sure did the one for Max).

Watched this a few weeks back and thought it was average. Which by Video Nasties terms means it was above average.
The film seems to forget its lead actress half way through and she only re-appears at the end before it switches to "snuff". I thought that was weird. I also was confused how anyone could have believed the ending was real. Half the time you can see where the actual body is and where the fake body starts.

Spoiler for anyone who cares:
There's also the other issue where the lead actress is in the final scene before the transition into "snuff" and she gets stabbed. The crew is wrapping up the shot but no one leaves that bed. So presumably she's been stabbed for real yet no one gives a shit and they all focus on a new random girl.
Obviously the real actress was never there and that's why they change focus. I just found it funny because it's another thing that takes away from the realism.

I love that bit in the article that notes the deputy coroner is trying to determine whether the film shows an actual murder, but nobody who watched the tape had commented, NO OF COURSE NOT, BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING OBVIOUS IT'S FAKE!!!!!

I remember the old Blue Underground DVD, I thought this movie was hilarious, with Satan as their leader, and the ridiculous violence, but I also remember liking the movie a bit, as it was so silly I thought. I didn't find it disturbing because it was so fake looking to me, I was amazed that people could think this was a real snuff film, because the violence was more fake looking to me than what I had seen in films like Friday the 13th and other horror films that were way more mainstream. But I will be getting this on blu ray, as I want to see the extras, and it seems to be loaded with extras. I have not seen this movie in many years, because I sold my dvd, but I wished I hadn't after I did, but now luckily I can get it on fabulous blu ray!
