Why Dont Companies Tell Us!!!!!!

OK i want to know why anchor bay will not tell us the reason for not having within the woods on the evil dead dvd!!!!
i think we should have the right to know!!
i think the truth is, is that anchor bay probably can include, but will not so that they con make money on future releases of it!

they are screwing us i bet!

also why cant they tell fans things like reasons as to why they couldn't release re-animator. why didnt they just tell us that elite wanted to keep it!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhh it makes me angry!!

even if they truly did want within the woods on the dvd they could tell us the reason and we could petition against , say the company that is holding the rights!!! if anchor bay told us, us fans could help get things on dvds more!
i dont want to write any more

I think we all need to calm down a little bit. Anchor Bay seems genuinly sad about not being able to include the "Within the Woods" short. I'm sure that if they were able to talk about the reason's behind it, they would. Obviously one of the student actors in the film, decided they wanted their piece of the pie for the short being released, or they didn't want it released at all and filed a court order barring release of the short, against Anchor Bay. this was posted by Michael R. Felsher of Anchor Bay about the removal of "Within the Woods".

Without getting into specifics, here's what the situation is.
The music clearances WERE resolved and the situation had been put to rest, however another legal issue came up out of the blue and because of it, WITHIN THE WOODS will most likely never see release on home video.
That's really all I can say about it. It's a unfortunate situation in any case.
Obviously they also filed a non-disclosure agreement with Anchor Bay, so that they couldn't even tell us fans what happened. Hopefully they will sooner or later settle this problem, and perhaps release a bonus disc containing the short. I for one would have loved to seen it, but we can't blame Anchor Bay about the fact it's been dropped. I'm sure they fought as hard as they could for it's inclusion, and the party just wouldn't budge.

That quote says it will most likely never see a HOME VIDEO release. Elite probably snagged the rights from under AB and will be rereleasing their disc. Isn't something like that happening with Zombie?

From reading the posts on Deadities Online forum, i think its more than that which has happened.. it sounds to me like someone involved with WtW has said, dont release it or we'll sue.. Unless you give us some ungodly amount of compensation..

it has to be something pretty damn big if AB have alraedy begin pressing copies and no have to basicly ditch em.

Skinnypup, you're my bro man, you know we often see eye to eye, but bud, you disappoint me with this one. Anchor Bay obviously can't say anything, same way as Elite couldn't say shit about why they couldn't press more Re-animators from time to time. Come on man, do you really think AB is intentionally screwing us? Seriously, think about it for a bit more.

Trust me, Within the Woods is not all that, I have a bootleg copy and quite frankly its not that great, if anything people should be protesting that none of the Sam Raimi/Bruce Campbell short collaborations in the Benny Hill tradition should be included on a disc somewhere, damn some of those are damn silly and hilarious indeed. Within the Woods is important in the historical context, I'm sure, but on the bootleg compilation that I have its the first thing I fast-forward through.

lol thanx for the info guys!
i just wanted to let you know that i only said those things to get some people all burled up. i dont know if it worked too much. anyways i learned a few things that i didnt realize before. such as the point made that a company can be told not to disclose information. i have to admit i did not know someone could make a law or rule up about this.

Im one of the people who doesnt really care wether or not within the woods will be on the dvd. it would be a nice edition, but the dvd is looking fantastic the way it is!

id buy it just for the case!

thanx for the info!
