Though I like the prequel I'm not a big fan of that or Part 3. So I guess I'll pass and just stick to my BR of the original.

It was $48 when the pre-order first went up. You have to act fast on Amazon to get the standard 30% off of most pre-order releases there.

I acted too, when it was only $48.00, actually a week ago last week. Glad I did. I also have already preordered House of Wax 3D with the original 1933 movie, and the 75th Anniversary Gift Set of Wizard of Oz, only through Amazon. I normally don't preorder, but since I have had great experience with Amazon, and anything above $25.00 ships for free, all three Blu-Rays I ordered qualify for the free shipping. I hope come October 1st that they ship all of them in the same box.

I have the first two on dvd and see no reason to upgrade at that crazy price. Part III is awful in every way.

yeah, I already doubled down when I picked up the R2 SE dvds of parts 2 and 3. i'm becoming fairly certain that I won't be picking this up. or the Vincent price set, either - unless there's significantly more features than the dvds I already own. its just too much money to spend on films I already have.

i'm even feeling a little guilty about the pscyho sequels, but i'm convincing myself that to upgrade two barebones films to (what should be) packed SE's is worth it.

Just a reminder, this set won't include the documentaries found on MGM's The Amityville Horror Collection. If I remember correctly, MGM's rights to those expired.

And the 3D is red/blue, right? I think Shout is going to have a lot of these ones left over...

no, I don't think that's correct. pretty sure its BD3D. which would be great if I had any plans to buy a 3D set up in the near future. unfortunately I don't, so its not of any value to me.

Sweet. Also noticed that it's still $48 on the Shout website:

Oh, and how terrible is that cover art? Really wished they went with the painted style of their collectors sets. This one looks like art you'd see on DVD in the late 90s. Grainy and unappealing.

It's only $49 on Amazon.ca right now. And yes part 3 is in real 3D, not the red and blue glasses.

And the Vincent Price Collection is $56 which isn't too bad at all for 6 movies.

Keep in mind both of these box sets will have over an hour of new extras, and considering normally Scream charges $20 for a movie, $50 for three movies and $56 for 6 movies ins't too bad at all.
