Anybody watch it yet? I'm curious about the transfer, etc.

One of my favorite films so I had to order this. Will be my second Twilight Time BD following The Blue Lagoon, which I thought was great.

Mine has apparently cleared Canadian customs so should be here early in the week.

Not BODY DOUBLE, but here's some reviews for Twilight Time's release of Walter Hill's THE DRIVER (1978), a favorite of mine.

Just checked. Mine cleared Canadian customs also as of yesterday so it should be here Monday/Tuesday.

I've actually never had any issues with Twilight Time, ever. Fright Night (with magnet), Christine and now Body Double. I guess I've been lucky.

I understand what you're saying, but apparently you're not hearing me.

Why do you care if something's a bullshit fulfillment system (which it is) if you couldn't care less about its bullshit results (which they are)?

I just don't see why I should get my panties tied in a knot over it. But, hey, they're your god given panties. Knot away.

And yes, maybrick, I don't doubt that Twilight Time Blu-rays will be worthless sooner rather than later. After three years time Fright Night Blu-rays could be in every cereal box in America. If not that then 4k streaming would.

dual layer disc (37,3 Gb) at least, jumped through it on my computer overall good image, a few scenes where the colors seemed to smear (D.S. white blouse while on the phone in the mall) haven't watched it on my home theater set up.

bought a new samsung 3D tv the other day, will be fun to see it on that

I have always been a proponent of collecting things that I actually enjoy and the monetary value being secondary since I don't plan on selling what I have anyways. My opinion is by no means meant to be offensive to people who buy TT discs. If you love these movies and want them in your collection then by all means buy them. But there is no excuse for Twilight Time to blow off annoyed customers with lame claims that their shipping fuck ups are okay because you're getting an "investment".

I'm sure someone will inevitably disagree with my opinion. The blu-ray of Body Double to me looks like an upconverted DVD. There is allot of grain and nothing looks HD to me. I've also been told this movie never looked great to start with. I will still go on record and say this doesn't look high definition to me. Anyway I love this movie imperfect and all for what it's worth. Craig Wasson's performance in this film was stunning and mesmerizing. Such a shame this film pretty much ruined his career IMO.

Do you mean because the film was not well received or is there something else?

Like blu-ray.com states, the movie was shot soft by the director intention, so, this will never be HD sharp unless some DNR is applied.

I'm going to wait on a studio release for this one. I'm coming to think that the quick sellouts will get studio releases when Twilight Time's license period is over. And you know someone will put together a De Palma collection one day.

Agreed??? Is this like a contest now?
Is a bunch of not so faithful reviews what it take to take credibility to a site?

Their forum is bull, but their reviews are a hint and miss.

Blu-ray.com is my #1 resource for blu-ray reviews. I only read the "Video Quality" portion and they never steer me wrong. I am pleased to see that my $32 for BODY DOUBLE, at the very least, paid for a well done transfer.

Sometimes their star ratings are off, but they're usually pretty accurate when listing the technical specs.

The screenshots are always good to get a general view of the quality for yourself...and are viewable in full 1080 resolution as long as you're logged in as a member there. I can tell just by looking through those that this is definitely not a DVD upconvert. A DVD upconvert to 1080p wouldn't have anywhere near that much visible grain.
