The screenshots are always good to get a general view of the quality for yourself...and are viewable in full 1080 resolution as long as you're logged in as a member there. I can tell just by looking through those that this is definitely not a DVD upconvert. A DVD upconvert to 1080p wouldn't have anywhere near that much visible grain.
Yeah it doesn't look HD on any of my TV's. It will be interesting to see what other review sites say.

Another review, an it says: "This is the way the film should look, now and forever."

A lot of '70s and '80s stuff looks this way. I'm not too worried about it. Some films just naturally lack detail so as long as the colors are vibrant and there's a healthy amount of grain and the transfer looks film-like, then what's the problem?

I'm really happy with the release. Just got my copy this morning. Great little booklet included, too. This was second TT release and I'll likely get The Blob ('88) when it's available.

Yeah it's a beautifully filmic-looking transfer with wonderful grain. Detail is not its strongest point but that's just an aesthetic choice. My only complaint: the booklet has a few big creases on the first page and there's a big crease in the spine. Wtf twilight time? It's like someone creased the booklet and cover sleeve and just stuck it into the bluray case (because the shrink wrap nor the outer packaging were damaged.

....think it's worth complaining to Twilight Time about??

I can see their response now:

We are sorry, Matt, that the cover and booklet were not received in mint condition but do you honestly think that happened on our end? If so, you are sorely mistaken. It must have been your postman that creased the cover and booklet. Unfortunately, we have sold out and cannot replace your copy but fortunately for you, you have a copy that is limited to 3,000. We hope you enjoy your investment!

It's the ultra rare, creased booklet version.

I have a few minor indents in the booklet. It's kind of ridiculous and obvious that whoever packed these was really careless.
