Freaked (1993) Blu-ray coming on 8/6/2013

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Freaked-Blu-ray/74452/

Unfortunately, it's being released by Anchor Bay. Their track record with releasing Twentieth Century Fox licensed titles (like The Entity & The Star Chamber) on Blu-ray seems to be "No Menu! No Features!"

So the chances that the 2005 DVD features will even be ported over are not good.

If the extras aren't there, I'll just stick with my DVD.

Preorder's already up at Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ag=cinema09-20

I love the film, but I can't see making the jump if it's barebones.

DVD listing is also up:

http://www.amazon.com/Freaked/dp/B00...rds=anchor+bay

Unkown though if this will be a re-release of the 2-disc SE or a new "barebones" release (I'm hoping though for the former).

Yeah I'll pass as it's almsot a guarantee it will be barebones. Cheap bastards can't even include menus and a trailer on these releases.

Well, it's been confirmed.

No menu, no extras, no sale.

Here's a look at the back for anyone who's curious:

I'll second the "No Sale" sentiment, which is shame because the OOP DVD was jam-packed.

And besides that, Anchor Bay first released it on DVD through their first deal with Fox making the extras on the Blu-ray no problem.

Still, I'm keeping my pre-order.

Same here. I cancelled my pre-order.

Anchor Bay should get an award for being the laziest studio in the world.

Right?
Well, we know the material is out there; I guess we'll just have to wait on Shout or Synapse to release a better version. I'm in no rush with all of the terrific titles being announced.
