I cancelled the SteelBook order at Zavvi quite a while ago. It's worthless beyond the packaging... since it won't even include the 2nd Blu-ray.

Why they didn't just axe the "DVD" and include the 2nd Blu-ray is just perplexing.

I ordered the 40th Anniversary Edition from Amazon UK. I hope that's the one that has the 2 BDs and all the pertinent extras.

Yes, that's the full version which includes everything. It's just the SteelBook exclusive from Zavvi that won't even include the 2nd Blu-ray.

I'm guessing they weren't offered both a Blu-ray stand alone and a DVD stand alone option. Since DVD is still a big seller they had to compromise to include one of each.

Perhaps, but they're also selling the normal DVD stand alone edition.

another review, some good pics showing how good some scenes look compared to how bad the added footage still looks

Would you believe I've never seen this? I'm thinking about blind buying it.

I certainly hope so. I just placed a good sized order from Amazon.uk with this in the cart. I saw its price and removed it from the cart before finalizing the order. I appreciate and understand the cost with all that went into this bd, but it's a tad too pricey right now. Speaking of bd prices, if the studios want people to buy 3d bd's, can they lower the damn prices? I don't need the regular bd, DVD, digital disc, digital code and Ultraviolet. Just offer the damn 3d bd at a reasonable price. Rant over.

Read nothing about it. It is a great film to go in blind. And do not watch a trailer first!

I pre-ordered it at Amazon UK for much less, but the price has apparently gone way up. It shipped the other day for just 15.47

I'd watch it first, it's a little slow and pretty dated. It definitely has its moments, but I've always found it overrated.
