Paperhouse (1988) Blu-Ray!

Oh how I've been waiting for this moment. The classic horror flick "Paperhouse" is finally on blu-ray and it is a spectacular one at that, the 1080p HD transfer is absolutely stunning (yeah this was a first day buy for me). Unfortunately it's only out in France and quite pricy but if you're a fan of the film it's definitely worth it. It's got English DTS 2.0 audio and a bunch of neat extras.

Love this one! What are the extras? Are they in English or at least come with subtitles?

Interview with Bernard Rose, Interview with Pascal Laugier, Artworks and something called "About the soundtrack", I haven't checked the bonus features out yet so I don't know if they're in english or not.

Thank god that´s available in France as I go to Paris every year... In-store the Blus from Metropolitan always come down in price after a few months and they are always part of a 3 for €30,00 promotion. This past January I bought around 30/35 blus on said promotion.

One plus thing is that Metropolitan produce their own transfers, so they are always very good and exclusive.

Does MGM still own this one in North America?

I must be in the minority here, because I found it rather unenjoyable. Filed under "probably a good movie, but not for me."

If MGM has the US rights and the movie is any good I'm certain that we'll see it come out through Shout.

leaps and bounds over the old DVD. The extras are really good too.

There's a little review here in French although it doesn't delve very much into the technical aspects but mentions about the film receiving full restoration...
