Thumbs down Express.com going down?!

@ll:Hi!
After 2 Years with very good experience with
Ordering by express.com, as of today they have not rolled any new titles since February 22 into the new release area!
After being fiercely loyal to Express.com through all their troubles, I've finally cancelt all of my Orders!
Sad!

That is a shame to hear. I remember getting my Army of Darkness Director's Cut delivered to my door on the day it was supposed to be in stores. Well, just seems too mayn "dot coms" are going the way of the Do-Do. Wonder what this means with the A Better Place signed film cells (I REALLY want one, dammit!)

Tobal - I know what you mean, I have had my A Better Place on preorder with express since january last year. I keep on wondering if I'll ever get the friggin thing. I am so sick of waiting, and I have been nervously watching the decline of express over the last six months...

Thumbs down

I was a loyal supporter of the original dvdexpress. I believe the decline started when they became express.com. I'll not be surprised when they fold (actually, I'm surprised they haven't yet). I quit ordering from them long ago when several pre-orders (ordered months ahead of release) were not shipped even after two weeks past the release date.

I was sad at the demise of dvdexpress. I do not care about express.

To add to the irony of all this, a few minutes after I posted my last message, I got an e-mail from Express.com advertising for their "great comedy discs" or something like that. I guess they are trying to keep people going.

I was a loyal user of DVD Express and even the early Express.com (after Reel, the first online site I bought from, went under), but when their discs started taking a whole week from ship notice to get to my door, I started buying from DVD Empire and Amazon, and occasionally other places, too.

It really is too bad. DVD Express had great service and fast shipping (some stuff I got a day early) and even threw in a trinket from time to time. Now, they look like they're going bye-bye.

Yep... Another case of getting to big for their boots... They were unbeatable when they were DVDExpress but as soon as they became Express.com everything started falling apart... A real pity
Unfortunately I am still waiting for one title that was apparently sent 5 weeks ago... I know I'm in London but things usually get her in a week to 10 days... I've totally given up with them and cancelled all my preorders weeks ago
Any suggestions on the quickest and cheapest alternatives?

Oh, yeah, my Express experience with A Better Place preorder has culminated with those motherfuckers cancelling my 14 month preorder without even notifying me. I used a valid $10 no minimum coupon on the order, to add insult to injury. When I contacted them a few days ago to ask what the story was, they just ignored me. I hope these bastards end up sleeping in cardboard boxes and warming their hands on garbage fires in 44 gallon drums...

I guess it's true...according to dvdreview.com, Express has filed for Chap 11 bankruptcy...

It's too bad because I remember back when DVD.EXPRESS was the only place I could get Warner or New Line dvds back in 1997 when Warner would only allow their dvds to be sold in 7 test markets. Thanks to Express I was able to get my hands on something other than TROPICAL RAINFOREST and ANIMATION GREATS.

I stopped doing business with them about 5 months ago when they started lacking in the customer service department and screwing up my orders.
