Not sure yet, but Anchor Bay's first UK blu-ray release was if that's any indication.

I think I'll get that UK steel book simply for the packaging. I'm sure the USA artwork will be more of the same old/current trend/scratchy distressed art crap.

There's no question that the UK steel is the way to go as it's far superior-looking. Even if it's region-locked it's still an option just for the artwork. I plan on replacing the UK discs with the Anchor Bay ones if it turns out they're region B.

I can't run the risk. I frequently order box sets from Amazon UK and don't always get my items within that type of window.

Do we even know if the UK release will be the same print as the US?

Both are supervised by Cundy and released by Anchor Bay so it's a given.

Ok cool. Well not sure which one I'll get if I even decide to get this release at all. I'll probably wait for a review.

So, what's up with this: http://www.amazon.com/Halloween-35th...dp/B00EM3NOF4/ ???

Amazon now have two listings up for the same release day. I'm guessing it's just an error, but who knows with Anchor Bay.

Amazon states this:
For this very special release, Anchor Bay went back to the vaults to present this legendary terror classic as never before, including creating an all-new HD transfer personally supervised by the film s original cinematographer, Academy-Award® nominee Dean Cundey, a new 7.1 audio mix (as well as the original mono audio), a brand-new feature length audio commentary by writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis, an all-new bonus feature with Ms. Curtis, as well as selected legacy bonus features from previous ABE releases.

I would sure like that steel book - but I definitely want this movie region free since this is one I may let someone borrow or take to someones house to watch. The cover they have been showing for the US release I dont like at all - wonder if that is the confirmed cover yet

But the US release is a book type release. Usually those are pretty good. Why they didn't keep things simple like the steelbook cover I don't know. But I do like the steelbook cover more. But I wonder how they will get the book stuff as part of the steelbook? If they even attempt.

Right now, I'm not going to pay the import price just for a steelbook case. We don't even know what the interior looks like either. If it's blank that makes it more of a ripoff.
