What is your favorite wheelchair-bound performance?

I screwed up and voted for Joan Crawford while thinking of Bette Davis' zany antics in the film. Joan really didn't have to do much other than pretend to be kind. Although, I suppose that in itself was a hell of a performance.

Jason Beghe.

If you have any appreciation for the beauty of the male form, this film and Beghe's performance are to horror what Phoebe Cates in Fast Times at Ridgemont High was to teen films. If you get my drift. Depending on when you grew up.

Other, for the ghost-bound wheelchair in The Changeling (1980)

Tom McBride - partly because he was so beautiful, and partly because the image of that wheelchair rolling down the stairs in the rain is not easily forgotten.

SCREAM OF FEAR,the late Susan Strassberg's performance stuck with me as a kid.I'd also give a shoutout to a TV episode,KILLER with Jenny Seagrove from THE HITCHHIKER,one of my favorites.

Paul A. Partain / The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)

Because, for once, the role is not played for sympathy.

Gave my vote to Beghe in Monkey Shines. That's a film I've felt was overlooked and I've been a fan since it was released. As much as I love Rear Window, I don't think Jimmy Stewart is a good actor and he's the weak link in all the Hitchcock pictures I've seen him in. I know that's an unpopular opinion; but Hitch would likely agree when it comes to Vertigo. Runner-up for me is Corey Haim in Silver Bullet just because I've always enjoyed the film and the idea of a wheelchair bound protagonist was refreshing in my youth.
