Pet Sematary (1989) coming from Paramount this Oct.

Paramount is set to unleash this late '80s horror classic on October 2.

Can't wait! One of my favorite King adaptations.

I almost bought the DVD on the clearance shelf at FYE a few weeks back. Glad I held out just a little longer!

Pre-order now up:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ag=cinema09-20

$15 is a little pricier than I would have liked, but it is Paramount...

Yeah I've given up on that pipe dream unless another sequel or something comes out that will make them see dollar signs for the franchise. But I like it's goos news on PS. I have the original dvd signed by Denise Crosby, so a blu would be cool.

No doubt about it, Paramount has been weak as fuck when it comes to celebrating their 100 Year anniversary. One catalog title a month is just pathetic. Would it have fucking killed them to release two titles in October? Pet Sematary and The Dead Zone would've been a sweet two-step.

I'm not supporting another Paramount release until they release the Friday blu-rays. Better yet, just give them to Scream Factory and let Felsher handle the special features. They can keep the crap they junked up the deluxe editions with.

^ A noble cause, but it's not worth depriving myself of a movie I love.

Besides, if Pet Sematary sells poorly, they are probably going to look at it as catalog horror selling poorly. That probably wouldn't give them much confidence in releasing the rest of the Friday sequels.

A better strategy would be to buy Pet Sematary (unless you truly don't like it at all) and ignore their other titles, to show them that there is a market for catalog horror releases.

I'm still wishing that Paramount would make a Friday box set like Star Wars or Indiana Jones or even Alien book sets.
