Exclamation FEARnet to become a TV Channel!

For those who miss MonstersHD and semi-despise Chiller, I have great news; FEARnet is going to become a TV channel starting October 1st! Shocktillyoudrop.com has the report!:

http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news...s.php?id=15585

"FEARnet announced it will be available as a linear network beginning October 1st.

The horror channel is currently available on demand, online and on mobile 24/7 and will expand its reach, making its modern horror library available in high-definition via multi-channel video programming distributors.

"FEARnet's unequalled content offering, combined with the genre's broad devoted fan base, has made it the number one destination for horror and suspense," said Diane Robina, president of FEARnet. "Now we're taking the next step, bringing the best titles in the genre in HD and making them available on an ad-supported linear channel."

FEARnet is currently available in more than 28 million homes on Comcast, Cox Communications, Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-Verse, Insight Communications, Bresnan and Guadalupe Valley Systems."

That's awesome. I loved MonstersHD when it was on Dish and we would watch it on our Dish demo box at work. Chiller blows 95% of the time, though once in a blue moon they'll do something awesome, like last Tuesday or Wednesday they did a whole days worth of Tales from the Darkside, followed by a double-bill of From Beyond and Night of the Living Dead '90.

It'll be great to have a true blue horror channel that doesn't show shit like Millennium and Poltergeist: The Legacy almost 24/7.

Does ad supported mean commercials that interrupt the films? Also, will the content be censored? If the answer is no to both, count me in.

Well that's great and all but...

The only people that missed Monsters HD were Cablevision (and at first, Dish Network) customers. And nobody else.

So, the fact Cablevision is not on that list. Does zero good for us customers that had that awesome channel ripped from our line-ups on January 20, 2009.

Besides, Chiller + Fearnet combined is still not as good as 1 MonstersHD.

That was my first thought as well.

Actually, Cablevision customers did get Monsters HD in 2007 (through IO Digital Cable.) And I'm hopin' the FEARnet channel will be just the same as Monsters HD and it will also come to Cablevision/IO.

I thought that I already had this. What is difference between what is out now and what is coming?

You have it OnDemand, but I think this is saying that it will become its own channel on cable--with hopefully more content turnover.

As for ads, there are ads during the OnDemand broadcasts on certain films, I think. I'm fine with it, so long as content is otherwise unedited.

I can deal with ads. I mean they gotta pay the bills somehow, but hopefully the content will be unedited like their OnDemand offerings.

Same here. I have about 800 channels of which about 40 I'd ever watch. FEARnet would have been a channel I'd watch provided the channel was in HD and the movies weren't edited and interrupted by commercials.
