Proving that a transfer came from your specific print and your scan was trickier in the analog days but in the digital age it would be much simpler. That's why you don't see millions of NotLD Blu-rays on store shelves but DVD bins overflowing with them. Afterall that's why Miramax made an HD scan.

I suspect someone, probably Miramax, is still sitting on NotLD. Having spoken with a few distributors at conventions there is interest in releasing it but fear of having your transfer stolen is not what's holding it up. I suspect something is up, like another remake but from a big fish (like the Savini one).
I hope you're right. Thanks for the insight.

I believe the Addams Family films were in Warner's calendar for titles hitting this year. And yes, apparently The Abyss and True Lies are planned for next year. We will see though as Cameron will be starting to shoot the Avatar sequels soon.

This is what I thought as well, but apparently Cliff from Scream stated that is not true and is the reason they will never release Night or any other film in public domain for that matter, which is a real shame!

I would love to see Night of the Living Dead, House on haunted Hill, and Last Man on Earth all hit Blu-ray. I would say they are all classic enough films for Criterion to tackle them. They may be our only hope, and would surely deliver great discs!

I'd guess he's referring more to the fact that many bootleggers believe it's not true. Like many things though I guess there's differing legal opinions. Companies like Kino and Image have released public domain films on Blu-ray and they'd gladly tell anyone they own the copyright to the transfers.

I own Soldier Blue on a Scandanavian region B BD from Studio Canal which has a good transfer. I too would love to see Ulzana's Raid especially if it were a special edition with the alternate versions included.
