The opening scene & credits of Zach Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake. A few ominous clues are sprinkled in the opening scene, then the world goes to shit overnight. Cue opening credits with apocalyptic montage and Cash on the soundtrack. The rest of the movie may not have quite measured up, but that opening is as good as anything zombie-related ever put on screen.

I always think about the scene where we are introduced to the first zombie by the river bank in Let Sleeping Corpses Lie. I'm not sure why I do, but I think that geographically it isn't all that different to areas in New Hampshire that I grew up in.

Have not seen too many zombie movies, but I actually liked the scene in the Dawn of the dead remake at the beginning where that girl creeps in to her parents room. Nice way to start the movie and creeped out my friends and I.

I love the goofy scene from Dead Alive where the Rat Monkey eats the other monkey at the zoo. I laugh out loud every time I see it!

I say for me any how, it's the beginning of Dawn Of The Dead when the husband has been bitten by the kid and the wife is hiding in the bathroom and he rams his head thru the door to get her...reminds me of The Shining and Jack Nicholson!! That hubby just scared the Hell outta me and his wife climbs out the window to escape, then he is still after after she gets in the car! Man!! I woulda grabbed my 22 also with the car keys tho if I was her

I was going to say the opening credits and in fact, the entire pre-credit sequence as well of Dawn of the Dead(2004). But since someone beat me to it. Let's see if I can think of something not mentioned yet.

Night of the Creeps. The scene with the ax murderer rising from the dead, below the old ladies house, as she hears pounding on the floor, then suddenly the zombie bursts through the floor, ax in hand and it's too late for the lady. It's a really creepy sequence.

The apartment scene in the original "Dawn of the Dead". It was the first zombie movie I'd ever seen and when that first zombie takes the chunk out of the chick's shoulder/trap area, it seemed so frigging real! That kicked off the sense of "uh oh, this is heavy stuff" that kept up for the rest of the movie.

It definitely has to be Burial Ground with the scene of the incestous zombie son biting off the breast of her mother. It's video nasty and trashy to the extreme.

Re-Animator, when the body-less head gets frisky with a naked Barbara Crampton. Classic!

The original helicopter from Dawn of the Dead (1978) showing up in the opening pre credit sequence in Dawn of the Dead (2004) in that wide highway shot... also in that same shot, Ben's story about the diner/gas station explosion happens as well... so awesome!

Olga Karlatos' eye splinter scene in Zombie, because it's shocking and looks painful.
